The Homeroom Project is a community service initiative created to support Arts in Medicine programs throughout Florida. What began as a way to donate art supplies has grown into a thoughtfully designed program that provides creative and comfort-based kits for pediatric, young adult, and adult cancer patients.

We collect donated materials and carefully curate them into take-home kits tailored to different needs and ages. Our offerings now include:

• Pediatric Art Kits designed for little hands and big imaginations

• Traditional Art Kits for young adults and adult patients

• Journaling Kits for those who prefer writing over drawing

• Comfort Care Kits filled with soft blankets, beanies, and soothing essentials

• Tactile Expression Kits featuring 3D materials like play-doh for hands-on processing

Each kit is created with intention, recognizing that healing looks different for everyone.

This initiative was Inspired by the countless hours she and I spent drawing together in homeroom. This project is my way of honoring Donna’s legacy in a way that she would have loved. By sharing the healing power of creativity, I am continuing the mission she began during her own cancer journey. Together, she and I can still make a difference, even if it’s just for one person, for a brief moment.

ICANCERVIVE has proudy launched The Homeroom Project by supporting Arts in Medicine programs at Moffitt Cancer Center, and Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay.  These places held deep meaning for Donna and mark a full-circle moment, allowing us to give back to the very communities that touched her life.

It is an honor to continue this journey with facilities that reflect her spirit, compassion, and belief in the transformative power of art.
